Admissions process

From your first call to your first day

Most admissions follow four steps. Our team guides you through each one and answers your questions along the way.

  1. A confidential conversation

Tell us what is happening, at your own pace. We ask about substance use, health, medications and current safety so we can recommend the right level of care.

  2. A free insurance check

We verify your benefits, explain what your plan may cover and talk through private-pay options before you commit to anything.

  3. A plan for your care

Our team reviews whether detox should come first and how residential treatment fits your needs, so your plan is based on clinical need.

  4. Arrival and your first day

We help you choose an admission date, explain what to bring and walk you through what your first day on campus looks like.

Call (760) 606-3016 anytime. Our admissions team will respond promptly.

Questions

Common questions about getting started

Do not see your question here? Our admissions team is glad to help.

Do I need to stop using before I arrive?

No. Stopping alcohol or certain medications suddenly can be unsafe without support. Tell our admissions team what you have been using and when you last used, so we can plan whether detox should come first.

Do you offer detox?

Yes. Our medically monitored withdrawal management takes place on the same campus as residential care, with continuous staff presence, emotional support and wellness monitoring. Nursing staff are available 24/7, and medication management is available when clinically appropriate. Learn about detox.

Does insurance cover treatment?

We work with most commercial insurance plans on an out-of-network basis, including most PPO plans with out-of-network benefits. Coverage depends on your policy, so we check your benefits for free and explain what to expect before you are admitted. All-inclusive private-pay pricing is also available. We do not accept HMO plans, Medi-Cal or Medicare.

How long does residential treatment last?

Length of stay depends on your clinical needs and progress, and it is part of the plan you build with your team. The average stay is 30 to 60 days, and extended care recommendations are available. Our admissions team can explain what to expect in your situation.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Personal and health information is handled under HIPAA and is never sold or shared for marketing. Read our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Can my family be involved?

When it is appropriate, yes. Family therapy and support are part of residential treatment, and your team helps decide who should be involved and when.

Do you treat mental health conditions too?

Yes. We provide integrated dual diagnosis care for depression, trauma, family and relationship conflict and other concerns that occur alongside substance use.

I am calling about someone else. Can you help?

Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to call. We can answer your questions, explain the options and talk through how to approach your loved one.

Where is Harlow Gardens?

Our gated campus is at 855 N Indian Canyon Dr, in downtown Palm Springs, California. Tour the facility.
